John Benton Awards...

The John Benton Awards are presented for achievement in both STARSkate and Competitive Tests and Competitions. John Benton was a past President and founder of the Skate Canada Pickering Skating Club. Mr. Benton donated the tropies and initiated the criteria for selecting award recipients.

Skaters must submit their results over the season in order to be considered for these awards. The deadline for submissions is usually the end of March or beginning of April and all entries are to be submitted to the Test Chair and/or Competition Chair.

The three skaters with the highest tabulated values are selected for each award. Results are reviewed by three different board members to ensure no errors are made. Awards are presented at the end of the skating season.
